FOUNDATION FOR GENETIC TECHNOLOGY
The Foundation was organized exclusively for scientific, literary and educational purposes. The exempt purpose of the Foundation is education. The funds and assets are to promote education in genetic technology through improvement of public understanding regarding the nature of such technology and provision of professional opportunities for training through grants, scholarships, awards and regional meetings.
Through public and corporate donations, the Foundation has made grants of the ISCN nomenclature book and the AGT Cytogenetic Laboratory Manual to the active cytogenetic programs in Canada and the United States and Cuba and is working on new grants to educational institutions with programs in genetic technology. The Foundation also sponsors review workshops for technologists in cytogenetics and molecular biology and has prepared the Cytogenetic Study Guide and the Molecular Study Guide for those technological disciplines.
